Glen Davis says Ray Allen will never apologize to his former Celtics teammates

According to Davis, there's a better chance of Allen "kissing Donald Trump on the mouth."

Glen “Big Baby” Davis is revealing a few behind-the-scenes details about Tuesday night’s televised 2008 Celtics reunion.

In an appearance on FS1’s Undisputed on Wednesday morning, Davis — wearing a fedora and Tom Brady-themed denim jacket — explained the team’s simmering “beef” with Ray Allen, as well as his own awkward reaction to the surprise appearance of former coach Doc Rivers. According to Davis, he was genuinely surprised by his longtime coach’s cameo.

“I was shocked,” he said. “That was like a reality TV show.”

Davis said he still likes Rivers — who he recently said was “overrated” and “lucky” — but was displeased that the coach made a fat joke at his expense.

“That was typical Doc,” Davis said. “He ain’t got nothing to do but rag on the fat kid.”

Davis played for Rivers, who at times ribbed the power forward for his weight, in six of his nine seasons in the league with the Celtics and Clippers.

As for his former teammate, Davis said he wouldn’t have left the team the way Allen, who was not present Tuesday, did in 2012.

During the reunion Tuesday, several of his former Celtics members still appeared visibly stung by Allen’s complicated departure and said the onus was on their estranged former teammate to make amends.

Asked if he thought Allen would apologize for leaving, Davis said Wednesday that there was “better chance of [Allen] kissing Donald Trump on the mouth.”

“Ray is never going to say that,” he added.

Given that Trump appears to have sided against Allen in this specific feud (tweeting in 2012 that Kevin Garnett’s pregame snub was “terrific”), the former scenario would also seem unlikely.
