WASHINGTON — Celtics guard Avery Bradley has drawn the unenviable task of defending Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall during much of these Eastern Conference semifinals.

That is hard enough when you are healthy, and even harder when your hip is hurting. Bradley suffered a right hip pointer in the Game 2 win, twice leaving the game for treatment before returning to finish off the Game 2 win.

And in the second quarter of Boston’s 121-102 Game 4 loss Sunday, he got a left hip pointer when he was screened by Wizards center Marcin Gortat. Bradley said it hindered his ability to defend Wall, who started the game by missing nine shots in a row but then made 8 of 16 and finished with 27 points and 12 assists.

“I think I got a little stiff,” he said. “I have to do a better job at making sure I’m loose throughout the game, especially with this. It’s my fault. I just have to do a better job at it. I’m going to use tomorrow to make sure I’m prepared for Game 5.”
