Terry Rozier adds big motor to small lineup

The offensive talent and prowess of the Washington Wizards — the speed of John Wall, the floor-stretching shooting of Bradley Beal and Otto Porter, and the midrange jumpers of Markieff Morris — have forced Celtics coach Brad Stevens to shift his rotations and lineups throughout the first two games of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Stevens knew the Wizards were one of the NBA’s better offensive teams and that they would test his usually staunch defense. But even he had to be rather reluctant to use four guards and a center in a pivotal fourth-quarter stretch with the Celtics trailing in Game 2 Tuesday.

That lineup — Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, the stellar Terry Rozier, Marcus Smart, and Al Horford — sparked the Celtics rally. Then Thomas became the biggest man on the court yet again, scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter and 9 in overtime in the Celtics’ 129-119 win.
