Rajon Rondo may have sat out the Bulls’ Game 3 loss to the Celtics, but his time on the sideline is drawing attention —and not only for his short-sleeve suit.

Following a baseline jumper by Jae Crowder to put the Celtics up 18 points in the first quarter, Rondo stuck his right leg up just as Crowder was running back down the court in front of the Bulls bench.

While Rondo didn’t make contact, fans on Twitter noticed the move, and he was asked about it after the game. The former Celtic explained the situation by citing his right knee injury in 2013, which he said he needed to stretched.

“I always do that throughout the game,” he said.

Rondo also suggested that Crowder was “so deep into [the Bulls’] bench, it looked maybe whatever may have happened.” According to the Associated Press, Crowder had “jawed at the Bulls bench” after hitting the jumper.

Rondo missed the Bulls’ 104-87 loss Friday night after the team announced hours before the game that he broke his right thumb during Game 2 and would be out indefinitely. He is expected to be reevaluated in in seven to 10 days.

The eighth-seeded Bulls still lead the No. 1-seed Celtics 2-1 in the series. Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday night in Chicago.
