Celtics legend Kevin McHale rejoins Turner Sports’ NBA broadcasts
Celtics legend Kevin McHale has signed a multi-year contract to return to Turner Sports as an NBA analyst.
He will provide analysis on select NBA on TNT games, as well as NBA TV’s weekly “Fan Night” telecasts. McHale worked for Turner Sports from 2009-11 before becoming the head coach of the Houston Rockets. He was fired early last season.
McHale will be joined on the expanded Tuesday night “Fan Night” telecasts by host Ernie Johnson and analysts Chris Webber and Greg Anthony.
McHale served as a guest analyst for TNT’s coverage of the NBA Playoffs last season, following more than four seasons as head coach of the Rockets.
McHale led the team to three consecutive playoff appearances including the 2015 NBA Western Conference Finals.
Named one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players of all time, McHale played 13 seasons with the Boston Celtics and won three NBA championships with the team (1981, 1984 and 1986). The Celtics retired McHale’s No. 32 jersey in 1994.
