Isaiah Thomas surprises 14-year-old Celtics fan (again) on Good Morning America
The All-Star point guard also shot hoops with the high school freshman at a park in Cambridge last week.
Isaiah Thomas stunned a local teenager for the second straight week Monday by giving away Celtics tickets to the youngster on Good Morning America. The All-Star point guard first met 14-year-old Robbie McNulty last week when he crashed a solo shooting session by the high school freshman at a Cambridge park. Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe spoke to McNulty about the experience and the story went viral over the weekend on the web.“[McNulty] was the only kid there,” Thomas told Himmelsbach about his encounter with the young Celtics fan. “So I’m like, ‘I’m just going to go get some shots up with him.’ When I walked over, he rebounded his own shot and turned around and I’m like, ‘Can I get a couple shots?’ And he stopped. He didn’t even say a word, like his eyes were so big. He just stopped and froze and I’m like, ‘Pass me the ball.'”
Good Morning America invited McNulty on the program Monday morning to talk more about the meeting which led to Thomas interrupting the interview with another surprise: a personal invite for McNulty to a Celtics game this season.

“Thanks for letting me shoot hoops with you the other day,” Thomas said in a prerecorded video. “Keep working on that jumper. I know we talked about this upcoming season, and I’d like to invite you to one of my games as my guest. See you at the Garden.”
McNulty looked to be in shock when first informed of the invitation, eventually replying to the hosts, “No way. Are you serious?”
No word yet on what home game McNulty will attend. The Celtics open up their season at the TD Garden on October 26 against the Brooklyn Nets.
