The Celtics announced the signing of five players Wednesday, bringing the roster to a total of 18 players.

Tyler Zeller was re-signed after contributing off the bench for the Celtics last year. He averaged 6.1 points per game in 11.8 minutes per game.

Gerald Green was officially signed, coming off a down year in Miami but a career-high 15.8 points per game in 2014.

The team also signed Jaylen Brown, Demetrius Jackson, and Ben Bentil. The three rookies will compete for playing time, but Brown, the third overall pick in the draft, looks like the frontrunner to get minutes. He averaged 16 points per game in Summer League.

The Celtics need to get the roster down to 15 players by the start of the season, and fans will be following the offseason closely to see who makes the cut.
