A departing Evan Turner calls Boston ‘the top of the top’
"There's no place like Boston"
Evan Turner won’t be a Celtic anymore after agreeing to a four-year, $70 million deal with the Portland Trail Blazers Friday. But a departing Turner credits the Celtics, and coach Brad Stevens, for revitalizing his career. In two seasons with Boston Turner averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, running Stevens’s second unit with aplomb.
“There’s no place like Boston,” Turner told the Boston Herald. “It’s unreal — a great NBA experience more than anything else. The last two years have been my best in the league, the top of the top.”
Turner posted a thank you to Celtics fans on Instagram Friday.

Turner was his typically candid self Friday on the state of NBA free agency, telling the Boston Globe, ” “I didn’t know how much I was going to make. It was so random. I could make $12 million a year or I could make $18 million.”
