Here are the Celtics’ NBA draft lottery odds
It’s up to the ping-pong balls.
The Boston Celtics enter the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday night with the third-best odds of securing the No. 1 overall pick thanks to a 2013 trade with the Brooklyn Nets. Boston owns the rights to the first-round pick of the Nets, who ended the 2015-2016 season with a 21-61 record, third-worst in the NBA.
The Celtics will have a 15.6 percent chance at winning the lottery, a 31.3 percent chance at a top-2 pick, and a 46.9 percent chance at getting a top-3 pick. Boston is guaranteed a selection no later than No. 6 overall.

The only teams with a better chance of coming away with the first overall selection are the Philadelphia 76ers (25 percent) and the Los Angeles Lakers (19.9 percent).
In addition to the lottery pick from Brooklyn, the Celtics hold the rights to their own first-round pick (23), and the Dallas Maverick’s first-round pick (16). Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge also has five second-round picks at his disposal this year: 31, 35, 45, 51, and 58.
