Larry Bird ranks sixth, Bill Russell seventh in ESPN’s all-time NBA rankings
Larry Bird and Bill Russell are two of the top-10 NBA players of all time, according to ESPN.
ESPN has been constructing a list of the 100 greatest players in league history over the past few weeks, revealing parts of the rankings at a time since Jan. 22.
Tuesday, ESPN revealed spots six through 10, and Bird and Russell were ranked sixth and seventh, respectively, on the all-time list.
Bird averaged 24.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, while Russell averaged 15.1 points and 22.5 rebounds per game, second all-time, in their 13-year Hall of Fame careers with Boston.
Russell won 11 championships and Bird won three, accounting for 14 of the Celtics’ 17 titles, most of any team in NBA history.
