Potential Celtics trade targets
-

Mike Conley, PG, Memphis Grizzlies — Through Jan. 31: 14.5 ppg, 6.0 apg, 3.0 rpg — With Memphis stuck behind the power trio of Golden State, San Antonio, and Oklahoma City in the Western Conference, Danny Ainge might try to pry Conley away from the Grizzlies to continue stockpiling assets.
-

Jeff Teague, PG, Atlanta Hawks — Through Jan. 31: 14.5 ppg, 5.5 apg, 2.5 rpg — The Celtics have inquired about the Hawks point guard, according to CSNNE’s Chris Mannix, and Atlanta might be looking to shop him in order to give more playing time to their young up and coming guard, Dennis Schroeder.
-

Taj Gibson, PF, Chicago Bulls — Through Jan. 31: 7.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.3 apg — The Bulls might be trying to free up more room for first-round draft pick Bobby Portis, and the Celtics could be interested in the veteran forward in order to add a proven rim protector and rebounder.
-

Jared Dudley, SF, Washington Wizards — Through Jan. 31: 8.9 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.9 apg — He’s on an underperforming Wizards team and went to Boston College, and the Celtics could use a knock-down shooter like Dudley, who sits third in the NBA in three-point percentage.
-

Hassan Whiteside, C, Miami Heat — Through Jan. 31: 12.3 ppg, 11.2 rpg, 0.3 apg — The Celtics are missing a “true’’ center like Whiteside, who leads the NBA in blocks by a long shot averaging 3.9 per game. The Heat might be looking to deal too, as Whiteside’s in the final year of his contract and the Heat have been on a roll with him out of the lineup with an injury.
-

Joe Johnson, SG, Brooklyn Nets — Through Jan. 31: 11.5 ppg, 3.8 apg, 3.9 rpg — Drafted by Boston in 2001, the Celtics have been looking for a crunch time scorer like Johnson, who could be acquired for a discount in a down year for the seven-time all star guard.
-

Brook Lopez, C, Brooklyn Nets — Through Jan. 31: 20.1 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 1.6 apg — One of only four 20-point and 8-rebound players in the league, the struggling Nets could be looking to deal the big man to begin a rebuild and possibly get one of their picks back from the C’s.
-

Danilo Gallinari, SF, Denver Nuggets — Through Jan. 31: 19.5 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.5 apg — Coming off a left knee injury that kept him out of the entire ‘13-’14 season and limited him to only 59 games last season, Gallinari might be having the best season of his career on a rebuilding Nuggets team. He’s the shooter and scorer that the Green need at the small forward position and they have the assets to entice the Nuggets to give him up.
-

Al Horford, C, Atlanta Hawks — Through Jan. 31: 15.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 3.0 apg — Another player that the Celtics have inquired about, according to CSNNE’s Chris Mannix, Horford would be a win-now move for the Celtics in the final year of his contract. He could add some much-needed scoring on the low block and mid-range areas as a career 54 percent shooter.
-

Blake Griffin, PF, Los Angeles Clippers — Through Jan. 31: 23.2 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 5.0 apg — With the NBA’s ongoing investigation of Griffin’s altercation with a team staffer and questions of whether he fits with Doc Rivers’ scheme, the five-time All-Star might not be untradeable after all. Out of all teams interested, Boston might be the one team that has the pieces to get a deal done.
-

Gordon Hayward, SF, Utah Jazz — Through Jan. 31: 19.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.6 apg — Having to carry the scoring load for a young Jazz squad, Hayward could become even more efficient under the system of his former college coach, Brad Stevens. A scoring tandem of Hayward and Isaiah Thomas could turn the Celtics into a serious Eastern Conference threat.
-

Ryan Anderson, PF, New Orleans Pelicans — Through Jan. 31: 17.5 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.1 apg — He’s one of the lone bright spots on an underachieving Pelicans team, and with a career 38 percent three-point percentage, Anderson and Kelly Olynyk would quickly turn into one of the best shooting big man duos in the NBA.
-

Kevin Love, PF, Cleveland Cavaliers — Through Jan. 31: 16.2 ppg, 10.7 rpg, 2.4 apg — Cavaliers general manager David Griffin has said that Love isn’t available, but if new head coach Ty Lue can’t find a way to get Love involved in the offense, don’t be surprised in Danny Ainge gives Cleveland a call. Love, a former 20/15 player, would provide some scoring a rebounding for a Celtics team that ranks in the bottom third in rebound percentage.
-

DeMarcus Cousins, C, Sacramento Kings — Through Jan. 31: 27.0 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 2.8 apg — Cousins is the only player in the NBA to rank in the top five in both points and rebounds, and holds the highest point total in a game this season (56). He has reportedly butted heads with head coach George Karl in the past, but the Kings are adament that Cousins is untradeable. If he ever becomes available, however, the Celtics have the draft picks and young players to throw at the Kings that might be enough to snag him away.
