Watch Marcus Smart hit another ridiculous circus shot
Marcus Smart is known primarily for his defensive skill, rather than his offensive abilities. And yet, the second-year guard has already drilled a number of jaw-dropping buckets during his career as a Celtic, highlighted by last year’s[fragment number=0] off one foot while falling out of bounds.
Smart added to that impressive collection during Wednesday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers. Evan Turner found a cutting Smart with a no-look pass in the paint, and the 21-year-old finished off the play with an acrobatic layup, despite not even facing the hoop.

While the circus shot was impressive, it remains to be seen whether the incredible finish will provide a much-needed spark to the guard’s struggling offensive game. Since returning from a knee injury on Dec. 27, Smart is shooting a paltry 28.6 percent from the field, a contributing factor to the Celtics dropping six of their last eight games overall.
The hybrid guard will have to bottle up more of that offensive magic moving forward to help Boston get back on track in the weeks to come.
