NBA suspends Al Jefferson five games for violating drug policy

Hornets center Al Jefferson has been suspended five games for violating the NBA’s drug policy, the league announced Wednesday.

No further details concerning the suspension were released. Jefferson is averaging 13.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game for Charlotte this season. The Hornets host the Boston Celtics Saturday night.
