Larry Bird thinks he’d get killed in a one-on-one game with Michael Jordan
Imagine peak Michael Jordan matched up one-on-one against peak Larry Bird on a blacktop — that would be a fantastic basketball spectacle.
On The Dan Patrick Show, Dan Patrick made the scenario a little less exciting. He asked Larry Bird, 58, whether he could beat 52-year-old Jordan.
Bird cracked up. “Where’s this going? Can I wear my hickory uniform?’’ he asked. “Boy that’d be a good game … God, I hate to admit this, but he’d kill me,’’ Bird said. “I’m 40 pounds more than I was when I played. I’m broken down. I really don’t care like I used to. I don’t — I have a fight in me, but it’s not the fight I once had. But it’d be pretty close game.’’
Bird’s back probably hurts just talking about it.
