Karl Anthony-Towns was selected with the number one pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and the newest member of the Minnesota Timberwolves is bringing his imaginary friend with him to the pros.
The karlito_towns Instagram account made its first posts on draft night, and the account racked up over 2,700 followers in its first 14 hours.
Karlito earned some national headlines during Kentucky’s run at an undefeated season last year. Karl talks to Karlito on the court instead of talking back to coaches or referees. It sounds weird, but NBA teams can deal with imaginary friends when you’re a 7-footer with the ability to run the floor, knock down jump shots, and protect the rim.
