Paul Pierce gets a vote for president of Poland
Paul Pierce’s ongoing heroics in the NBA Playoffs have taken him worldwide.
Pierce’s teammate on the Washington Wizards, center Marcin Gortat, is a native of Poland. It appears that one of Gortat’s fans in his native country is also a pretty big fan of Pierce and displayed his fandom by writing in “The Truth’’ for president.

While plenty of Celtics and Wizards fans may agree that Pierce fits the presidential bill, his burgeoning candidacy in Poland ultimately dried up.
