Watch LeBron hit buzzer beater in latest wild NBA playoffs finish
LeBron James wouldn’t be left out of the buzzer beater frenzy sweeping the NBA Playoffs.
With his Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls deadlocked, 84-84, in the closing seconds of Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Sunday, James drained a game-winning corner jump shot as time expired. Just 1.5 seconds remained in the fourth quarter when Cavaliers point guard Matthew Dellavedova inbounded the ball to James as he darted away from Bulls defender Jimmy Butler. The four-time NBA MVP caught the pass and got off the decisive shot before the buzzer sounded at United Center in Chicago.
“I just told Delly, ‘give me the ball,’’’ James told ESPN’s Lisa Salters on the court after the 86-84 win. “‘I’m going to get open. Give me the ball. And I’m going to win this game for us.’’’
The Cavaliers were on the wrong end of a buzzer beater in Game 3 of the series Friday night when Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose banked in a winning shot at the final moment. James’ winner evened the buzzer beater count, 1-1, and the series, 2-2.
