Watch Tony Allen Remind Everyone How Good He Is
Tony Allen, the artist formerly known as “Trick or Treat Tony’’ in his younger days with the Boston Celtics, has established himself as one of the elite perimeter defenders in the NBA. The 11-year veteran is a three-time NBA All-Defense selection, and he’s walking the walk and talking the talk in the postseason.
Allen led an impressive defensive effort by the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinal series against the Golden State Warriors, the NBA’s best team in the regular season. Allen did a masterful job containing Klay Thompson to 13 points, and he had his moments against league MVP Stephen Curry, too. Memphis won, 97-90, to even the series at 1-1.
Allen was mic’d up for the game and made sure everyone knew where he stands on his candidacy for the NBA’s All-Defense teams.
