The NBA announced on Monday that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been named 2015 NBA MVP, edging out Houston Rockets star James Harden in a season-long race for the ages.

Curry received 100 of the 130 first place votes to Harden’s 25. Four-time MVP LeBron James finished in third place and earned five first place votes, while fourth place went to Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Curry averaged 23.8 points and 7.7 assists per game this season, leading the Warriors to a league-best 67 wins and breaking his own record for 3-pointers made in a season.

New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis rounded out the top-5 in the voting, with Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul finishing sixth in what was largely a six-man race. The only player to earn top-5 votes on multiple ballots outside of the top-6 was LaMarcus Aldridge, a potential future Celtic and current star of the Portland Trailblazers.
