Anthony Davis Wants to Be Sure You Don’t Confuse Him With Anthony Davis

While the sports world wonders if New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis will leap to super stardom this year, his doppleganger – in name only – wants to make sure you don’t get them mixed up.

Although they share a name, the other Anthony Davis suits up on Sundays for the San Francisco 49ers, and sent out the following Tweet on Tuesday to make sure there wasn’t any confusion.

Seen side-by-side, it’s not likely the 6-5, 323-pound offensive tackle would be mistaken for the 6-10, 220-pound NBA forward. But the guy who protects 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick just wanted to be sure.

The basketball Davis and his Pelicans begin their 2014-15 campaign on Tuesday against the Orlando Magic, while the football Davis and his 49ers continue their 2014 season on Sunday, when they host the St. Louis Rams.
