Celtics resting several players vs. Heat
Paul Pierce, Avery Bradley, Sasha Pavlovic, Brandon Bass, and Ryan Hollins will start for the Celtics tonight against Miami. That means that Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Greg Stiemsma are sitting.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Allen and Rondo would have been out tonight regardless of the team resting players. Rondo warmed up before the game with an ice pack on his lower back, while Allen is still nursing an ankle injury. Rivers also said that Garnett came to him and told him he wouldn’t mind sitting because of a hip flexor injury.
