Welcome to the Garden …
Welcome to TD Garden, where the Boston Celtics will take on their doppleganger, the Los Angeles Lakers, at 8 p.m.
Gary Washburn wrote a good piece in today’s Globe about how the Celtics and Lakers mirror each other in terms of their decline. The teams were peers in 2008, 2009, and 2010 because they were elite. They’re peers once again now, just a notch down. Both teams can gain some momentum in this rushed season with a win tonight.
The Celtics are currently on the parquet going through a closed walkthrough. Not a ton of injury news expected to come before tonight’s game, so we should really see these two teams in their complete form. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of crowd shows up tonight. Something tells me the opponent will kick the intensity of this season up a notch or two.
