Welcome to Round 2 …

MIAMI — Welcome to American Airlines Arena, where the Boston Celtics will take on the Miami Heat in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series at 3:30 p.m.
It’s a beautiful day here in Miami, so rather than take a picture of a stuffy arena I figured I’d prove it to you with a picture from the hotel. Ran from the hotel in downtown Miami across the Venetian Causeway and over toward South Beach. It’s a pretty route. It’s also far — no where near where the Heat play basketball — though there were lots of folks there more talented than I am. Can’t think of a better city to spend time in when the weather is nice.
Glen Davis was certainly enthusiastic about being in Miami as well, tweeting last night, “I don’t think I I’m going to sleep tonight. Cait wait for the game . I’m so ready.” The Celtics could use an energized Davis. Point guard, center, and bench are three areas where the Celtics should have the edge over the Heat. Davis can help the team win the battle of the benches, and he also needs to crash the boards. Both teams have stressed rebounding as crucial to winning this series.
We’re just getting started here. Look for dispatches from the entire Globe Celtics team throughout the day and throughout the week. Enjoy the game.
