Boston Celtics

Welcome to the Garden …

Welcome to TD Garden, where the Boston Celtics will take on the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:30 p.m.

The Celtics are currently on the parquet going through a closed walkthrough. The big question tonight is whether Nenad Krstic will play. We’ll get you that update, as well as the starting lineup and any other lineup changes, after the locker rooms open at 6 p.m.

It’s a tough slog through the dog days or March. These recent games haven’t meant much, but tonight’s game is important because it could be a preview of a first-round playoff series. Celtics fans should root like heck for their team to vault pass Miami into the No. 2 seed, because these Sixers are tough. They actually play defense. The Celtics are No. 1 in the league in opponent points per game at 90.91, while Philly is 12th at 97.51. By contrast, the Knicks — who are in the seventh spot in the East — allow 105.83 points per game to opponents.
