Boston Celtics

Welcome to the Garden

Welcome to TD Garden, where the Boston Celtics will take on the Miami Heat at 1 p.m.

Nothing like a nice, dull matchup here to ease into a quiet Sunday. Celtics-Heat will come and go without the least bit of attention being paid to it. No one will analyze it tomorrow. It’s a meaningless, February game after all. How much could it matter?

Too-tired sarcasm aside, this game is for first place in the Eastern Conference. It’s the Celtics’ first look at the Heat since the Heat have become, well, good. It could mean the difference between playing four home games in a playoff series or three.

It’s unfair to ask the Celtics to deal with all this given the team’s current state. They’ve got fewer healthy players than a regulation squash team. The C’s are currently going through a walkthrough on the parquet. The warmup will go a long way in determining whether or not Nate Robinson can play. Let’s hope he can. And let’s hope Von Wafer can guard LeBron James in stretches. And that Paul Pierce doesn’t get into foul trouble. And that no one else gets hurt.

Back with more updates in a bit.
