Welcome to the Garden
Welcome to TD Garden, where the Boston Celtics will take on the Washington Wizards at 7:30 p.m.
No. 1 overall pick John Wall is officially questionable for tonight’s game. Wall replied “naw” when asked on Twitter this morning if he’d be able to play, but nothing’s official at this point. Early efforts at shoe leather journalism (I’m sitting courtside right now and no sign of Wall) have come up empty. We’ll update you on his status when media access begins around 6 p.m.
There’s no question Paul Pierce will play tonight. He’s warming up now on the parquet, with rookie Luke Harangody shooting on the other end. Wall’s status shouldn’t matter to the Celtics — they’re a better team than Washington. But from a fan’s perspective, it’d be nice to see the young speedster play.
UPDATE, 5:57 p.m. On another trip out to the court, Avery Bradley was checking Von Wafer in a game of 2-on-2. Delonte West, not involved, walked past them on his way to the court for warm-ups for his first game back with the Celtics. West said this week he would do what Doc Rivers asked him to upon his return. Rivers is likely to ask West to play plenty of minutes in the absence of Marquis Daniels, so look for Delonte early and often tonight.
