West: ‘There’s a lot more maturity’
WALTHAM — There was plenty of regular, boring Delonte West news at Monday’s media day. West is back for his second stint with the Celtics after a stay in Cleveland. The last time he was here, the Celtics were a bad team.
Things have changed a bit.
“It’s definitely a different vibe in the locker room,” said West. “There’s a lot more maturity going on around here than the last time I was here.”
West was hesitant to compare his old team with his new team.
“It’s like comparing apples and oranges,” he said. “Every team has its own vibe, has it’s own swagger. I had a wonderful time playing in Cleveland. LeBron’s a great guy, a great teammate. But we faced a revamped Boston Celtics team that found the magic of youth somehow, and they ran through everybody.”
