Welcome to Amway Arena

ORLANDO, Fla. — Welcome to Amway Arena, where the Boston Celtics will take on the Orlando Magic in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals at 3:30 p.m.

The atmosphere outside the arena reminds me of a neighborhood cookout. Inside, fans have just been let into the building, and Celtics and Magic players are going through their warmups. Rajon Rondo (above) is out there for the Celtics, while Dwight Howard is catching the flashbulbs from his own fan on the other end of the court.

The Celtics locker room is quiet, though not unusually so. Paul Pierce was watching film. Ray Allen was talking movies with a couple of reporters. And several players had their headphones on. It was a contrast to the boisterous Cavaliers locker room before Game 6 in Boston, but the Celtics don’t appear to be in a different mood than usual here.
