Welcome to the Garden
Welcome to TD Garden, where the Boston Celtics (41-24) will take on the Detroit Pistons (23-43) at 8 p.m. (note the late start time for ESPN).
You almost forget the Celtics are 41-24, given the constant talk about how much this team has struggled. Tonight’s game will most likely only fuel that talk. Win against a poor Pistons team and people will forget about it by tomorrow afternoon. Lose to the Pistons at home, and it will be another example of how far the Celtics have “fallen”. Take this past weekend. No one remembers the Celtics blew out Indy on Friday, but that Cavs loss, played over and over on Sportscenter, will linger for a while.
Not much to update you on yet, as the Celtics’ walkthrough is currently closed to the media. Back in a few when we get access to the players.
UPDATE, 6:16 p.m. As you can see by the photo, we just made it out onto the court. Shelden Williams (right), Tony Allen (left), and Michael Finley are warming up with now for the Celtics. Both TA and Williams are working on post moves, while Finley is taking jumpers. Finley is a big guard, the tallest the Celtics have. You can see how a player of his size became such a dominant player for such a long period of time. Even at 37, he’s still a dead shot from almost everywhere.
