Welcome to the Garden …

Magic forward Rashard Lewis warmed up before the game.
The playoff banners are still hanging, starting at the MGH exit off of Storrow Drive and decorating light posts down Cambridge and Staniford streets, all the way to the Garden.
A new series starts tonight.
The Celtics extended their 2009 playoff run with a win over the Chicago Bulls in Game 7 Saturday night. That win earned Boston the right to host third-seeded Orlando for Game 1 of second-round series tonight at 8 p.m.
Eddie House and Tony Allen are both launching jumpers right now on the parquet. On the other end of the court, Magic assistant coach and Cambridge native Patrick Ewing is working with some of Orlando’s reserves. A few minutes earlier, Ewing shared a conversation with Celtics general manager Danny Ainge. This will be the first series Ainge is able to attend fully after suffering a heart attack a couple of weeks ago.
On the brink of elimination over the weekend, the Celtics now have new life.
We’re just getting warmed up here. Check back often for news and notes from the Garden.
