Rivers: We haven’t done much
Say what you want about Doc Rivers, but you can’t say he isn’t honest. Rivers gave his team the day off Sunday, meaning Celtics players began preparing for their second-round opponent Monday morning.
Rivers was asked what his team did to prepare for the Magic.
“Not a lot,” said Rivers. “We did our normal stuff. Obviously we would have liked to have done more, but there just wasn’t enough time. Like I’ve said all year, if I have a choice between the guys’ legs and their brains, I’m taking their legs.”
Rivers said his team has never had such little preparation for a playoff series, including the transition between the first and second round last year. Game 7 against Atlanta last year was in the afternoon, giving the Celtics about a half-day more of preparation.
