Long, strange ride for Rivers
The Celtics and Bulls have played seven overtime periods in six heart-pounding, down-to-the-wire games, but Doc Rivers before tonight’s tip that he’s not sure if this is the most exciting playoff series he’s ever participated in.
“I have no idea,” said Rivers. “I guess. That’s what everybody says. But I don’t know. I don’t think you can look at it that way. It’s been strange. I’ll let you guys decide all that.”
Rivers said the strange part about the series has been knowing which emotions to take during some of these marathon contests.
“You think you’ve won, then you’ve lost, then you’ve won. That’s happened five or six times in each game,” said Rivers.
The Celtics and Bulls clearly know what to expect out of each other at this point. There will be no major surprises tonight (sorry Celtics fans, no KG). The team that executes best is likely to win the game.
“The whole key for us is not to overadjust,” said Rivers. “Then you’re not playing on instincts.”
