Welcome to the Garden, where the Boston Celtics (57-19) will take on the Atlanta Hawks (43-32) at 7:30 p.m.
The Celtics won’t have to worry about facing the Hawks in the first round of the playoffs this season — Atlanta is firmly entrenched in that No. 4 spot in the East. So while tonight’s matchup isn’t necessarily a playoff preview, it’s still entertaining basketball.
No major personnel news to announce tonight. Ray Allen played 46 minutes in Wednesday’s game against the Bobcats, and he’ll probably log heavy minutes again tonight against a talented Atlanta backcourt.
“He’s a professional,” Doc Rivers said of Allen. “Days off he’s in the gym. Yesterday before practice he was in an hour early. He knows his body as well as any other player I’ve coached.”
