Allen has no restrictions
Celtics guard Tony Allen will wear a brace on his left hand but has no minute-restrictions in his return to the floor tonight.
“He got clearance from the doctors that it’s time to play,” said Rivers. “No restrictions at all. His legs are fine, so it’s more the hand issue. We just have to hope he can make it through games healthy.”
Rivers said Allen’s return allows him to rest Paul Pierce and Ray Allen more than he has been lately.
Before the game, Allen said he had a few “jitters in his stomach” but that he won’t be limited by his thumb injury.
“It’s not sore, but if you hit it in the right spot it might hurt,” said Allen. “I won’t try to do too much. Hopefully I’ll be 100 percent by the time the playoffs come.”
