Welcome to the Garden

TD BANKNORTH GARDEN — Welcome to the Garden, where the Boston Celtics (4-1) are scheduled to take on the Milwaukee Bucks (3-2) at 7:30 p.m.

Got here a couple minutes later than I would have liked and presumably missed Ray Allen and Paul Pierce do their pre-game shooting. Tony Allen and Eddie House are out on the parquet right now. Patrick O’Bryant and J.R. Giddens are on the sideline doing some conditioning with Bryan Doo. The Celtics Dancers are at midcourt, doing what they do.

It’s hard to find a storyline for tonight’s game, but if you’re really looking for one, he’s standing on the other end of the court right now. Richard Jefferson, acquired last season from the Nets, is one of the pieces on this new-look Bucks team. Mo Williams (Cleveland) and Yi Jianlian (New Jersey) have moved on to greener pastures.

Milwaukee is 3-2, but the team’s wins have come over the Thunder, the Knicks, and the winless Wizards. Guard Michael Redd is a question mark for the Bucks (we’ll update you on his status when it becomes available). And the Celtics are pretty good at home, compiling a 48-7 record last season and winning their first two games here this season. On paper, this one definitely looks like a mismatch.

Boston, meanwhile, is coming off a successful 2-1 road trip, with a full day to recover yesterday.

The locker rooms will be open in a few minutes. Back with some more substantive updates in a bit.
