The last time LeBron James was in this building he scored 45 points. Paul Pierce scored 41. And the Celtics sent Cleveland home for the summer with a 97-92 win in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
“Of course you have emotions,”James told reporters in the Cavs locker room before tonight’s game. “Considering how well we played and how well they played, in the series that we went through with them last year in the playoffs…I let go of it quickly. I had to refocus myself to get ready for the Olympics. It was a great game between myself and Paul, and between the Celtics and the Cavs.”
It might have been the best game of the playoffs, and it feels like a playoff atmosphere again here tonight with a crush of media for the season-opener for the NBA champions.
