Boston Celtics

Brown comes up big

He was an unlikely contributor, but Celtics power forward P.J. Brown made a huge impact on the game tonight.

Brown had 10 points and 6 rebounds in 20 minutes of action, and he hit arguably the biggest shot of the game when he nailed a jumper with 1:21 left in the game to put the Celtics up by three.

Although he hasn’t had much playing time, Brown said he has felt comfortable on this team since Day 1.

“I just tried to stay prepared,” Brown said After the game. “Like I’ve said many times, I don’t know when my number is going to be called, or when coach is going to want me to come out there. I try to get my reps in, in practice, and get my body prepared for when that time comes, and tonight I thought I did that. I wasn’t expecting to play that much, I really wasn’t.”

Said Paul Pierce, “When I saw P.J. at the All Star break, I said, ‘Man we are going to need you. We are going to need for the second round, Game 7, vs. Cleveland.’ And he showed up tonight and he was big.”
