Long wait for LeBron
A crowd of about 40 reporters waited for almost an hour to talk to LeBron James in the Cavs locker room before tonight’s game. James was in the private part of the locker room, getting his ankles taped and prepping for the game.
James finished fourth in the NBA’s MVP voting, announced this afternoon. Lakers start Kobe Bryant won the award.
“I’ve always said, since two or three years ago, that Kobe Bryant is the best player in this league,” said James. “I think he’s been the best player in this league for the last five or six, seven years.
“It’s good that he won it. His team played well. He’s part of the reason why they finished No. 1 in the West.”
It was news to coach Mike Brown that LeBron had finished fourth. The voting was announced late this afternoon.
“Kobe is a great player,” said Brown. “He won it, but he’s just as deserving as LeBron. I’m a little biased.”
