Woodson looks far ahead
Hawks coach Mike Woodson gave kind of a weird pre-game press conference to reporters. Granted he was answering the questions asked to him, but Woodson spoke more about his team’s needs for next season and his job security than tonight’s Game 5.
“We had our problems on the road like a lot of teams did this year,” Woodson said. “And that’s the next step. And in doing that, we need to add a few more pieces, I think. We’ve got to bring Josh Childress and Josh Smith back and add some more pieces.”
When asked what those pieces were, Woodson said, “That’s something that at the end of the season, if I’m the coach, we’ll all sit down and evaluate that.”
A bit out of place for the coach of a team who has the No. 1 seed in the East on the ropes.
