Powe Leon

Leon Powe even sweats after the games.

The hard-working Powe had 10 points and 4 rebounds in his playoff debut, and he stood, smiling and sweating in his button down shirt, in front of his locker as he answered questions from reporters.

“It’s real different,” Powe said of his first playoff experience. “I just had to settle down and get in the rhythm and go from there.”

Powe was involved in one of the more memorable moments of the game. After being fouled hard on a dunk in the second half, Powe was knocked around a bit by Kevin Garnett as he lay on the floor. Garnett then helped Powe to his feet.

“He’s cool,” said Powe. “It’s not like he’s getting carried away in a bad way. It’s carried away in a good way. And he knows how to control it. He’s just like a kid out there. He loves the game, loves to play, and loves to compete.”

Garnett said after the game that nothing he ever did could bother the muscular Powe.

“Leon’s a grown [expletive] man,” said Garnett. “Those little hits that I was giving him, he didn’t feel that. That was like high-fives to him.”
