Perkins ready for playoffs
Celtics center Kendrick Perkins will play in his first playoff game tonight [correction: Perkins played six postseason games for the C’s during the 2004-2005 season]. He said the team has been antsy waiting for the postseason to start. He’s glad it starts tonight.
“I’m just really focused, locked in,” said Perkins. “I know I prepared well up to this point. This is what we’ve really been waiting on. At this time you’ve just got to leave everything on the court…I think the first playoff game is key. Whoever gets that one sets the tone.”
Perkins said he has watched just about every NBA playoff game on television over the last two days.
“Watching other playoff games kind of gets you motivated at the same time,” said Perkins. “The whole atmosphere, you can tell with the fans and the towels waiving that it’s just fun to be a part of.”
In contrast, Rajon Rondo said he fell asleep during the Spurs-Suns game yesterday.
