Doc takes blame
Doc Rivers is about as forthcoming as an NBA coach can be. And though he may have been half-kidding, Rivers took the blame for Monday’s loss to the Sixers.
“I sat our starters way too long,” Rivers admitted. “Just blame me. It’s easier…I don’t like to make excuses [about fatigue].”
Rivers also said he planned to guard Shaquille O’Neal one-on-one tonight, to try and prevent Phoenix from getting too many open looks on the perimeter. Detroit employed that strategy successfully Monday night in a win over the Suns.
