Tired excuse
The Celtics just returned home from a five-game road trip, but players refused to use the trip as an excuse for their loss tonight to Philadelphia.
“I wont blame it on fatigue,” Ray Allen said. “It’s nothing that any of us couldn’t handle. We had every opportunity to win.”
Kevin Garnett wasn’t about to make excuses, either.
“You can’t blame that,” said Garnett. “Hell, everyone’s got to do the same thing in this game. We can’t cry about having to fly, and what it is. It’s part of it and we have to deal with it.”
Celtics coach Doc Rivers gave credit to the Sixers, but wouldn’t rule out his team being tired.
“We acted like it,” Rivers said. “We played like it. But give Philly the credit; I just thought they played harder for the most part. They ran through all the loose balls, they were quicker reacting to all the plays, so they won the game.”
Allen was asked if he learned any lessons from tonight’s game.
“Don’t lose,” he quipped.
