KG’s return
Early indications are that Kevin Garnett will travel with the Celtics to Minnesota tomorrow, according to coach Doc Rivers. Garnett will not play, and, as he’s done the last five games, he is not expected to sit on the Boston bench. Rivers said he would encourage Garnett to appear on the court if the Timberwolves were honoring him with any kind of ceremony.
Ray Allen, who recently returned to his old stomping grounds in Seattle for a road game against the Sonics, had an insightful take on KG’s impending return.
“You talk about it being another game, and you try not to worry about it,” Allen said. “Obviously, it’s come upon us so quickly. But emotionally, I think it’s going to set him back. He’s going to be very emotional. He’s already an emotional person, so being able to be in that building for him, and seeing old faces, people who he’s dealt with for his whole career, I definitely think he’s going to be emotional about it. It’s going to be tougher than he might have realized.”
