Rajon Rondo had 12 points and helped the Celtics push the tempo here in the second quarter.

While driving to the hoop at the 2:54 mark, Rondo was fouled hard by Sam Cassell. This happened right in front of me, and it appeared that Cassell fouled Rondo from behind and hit him in the face. Rondo banged into the press table and was down for a few seconds before being helped up by Ray Allen.

Cassell was called for Flagrant 2 foul and by rule was ejected from the game. So much for this being a tryout for a future job in Boston.

Corey Maggette is leading the Clippers with 22 points. Rondo has 18.

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis earned his nickname when he and Clippers forward Josh Powell dove out of bounds chasing a loose ball around the 7:00 mark. Davis appeared to push Powell from behind, then landed on top of Powell as the two player tumbled over a cameraman into the second row of seats.

Still no sign of Paris Hilton, though I haven’t done much searching. Supposed love-interest Cuttino Mobley checked in at the 3:53 mark in the first quarter. He’s played 16 minutes and has not made a shot from the floor.
