Growing up
Sebastian Telfair seems like a changed man. His stats this season for Minnesota (9.6 points, 5.9 assists) seem to confirm that. His demeanor does as well.
“I started committing myself to basketball 100 percent,” Telfair said before facing his old team tonight. “Sometimes you think you’re working hard, and you could be working a lot harder. I just think as a person it was time to grow up, change my lifestyle a little bit, and do what’s best for my family and myself.”
Telfair, who said he does not talk to any current Celtics players, said he didn’t regret how things ended in Boston. In an unusual move last April, Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck removed Telfair’s nameplate from his locker at the team’s practice facility days after Telfair was arrested following a traffic stop in New York.
“In the end I put myself in that situation, so I can’t be mad at anybody for making those decisions.”
