Both teams have started slowly here in the first quarter. The Celtics are shooting 42 percent and have 4 turnovers, but they’ve scored just 18 points. The Wizards are shooting 35 percent and have only 3 turnovers.

The play of the quarter was clearly Kendrick Perkin’s steal and behind-the-back dribble toward the end of the period. Perkins found Paul Pierce, who lobbed it up to Kevin Garnett for the ally-oop dunk with 2:25 remaining. It brought the house down.

  • This Caron Butler-Pierce matchup is a good one. Pierce has 5 points and Butler has 4 points after one quarter.
  • The Wizards are wearing their hideous gold shirts and black shorts as uniforms. Bring back the Washington Bullets.
