Butler gives props

Caron Butler is one of the league’s most underrated stars, but Washington’s leading scorer tonight gave some respect to Paul Pierce, who was guarding him for most of the game.

“When I was at UConn, I was always trying to model my game after him,” said Butler. “He was the guy that went tenth pick and obviously he wanted to make people pay as well and obviously we’ve been doing the same thing. He was a guy that I always looked up to, so he was like a big-brother.

“It was a pleasure to get the opportunity to go at him like that down the stretch.”
