Allen, Davis out
Celtics guard Ray Allen is out tonight with a pinched nerve in his neck. Tony Allen will start in his place.
“If this was a playoff game [Ray Allen] would be playing,” said Celtics coach Doc Rivers. “He got up this morning and felt great.”
Rivers said the choice of Tony Allen to start was an obvious one.
“Basically if the 1, 2, or 3 is out, Tony is going to be the starter,” said Rivers . “It’s Tony right now. He’s up and down. And he’s starting to be more up than down, which is good for us.”
Glen “Big Baby” Davis is also out for the Celtics tonight. Davis has a sore right knee. Rivers said he expects both players back in the lineup on Friday.
