Boston Celtics

Celtics, 47-45 (half)

For a team with more than twice as many losses as wins, the Grizzlies have hung tough with the Celtics here in the first half.

Mike Miller had the hot hand for Memphis early. The sharpshooter made 5-of-6 shots to pace the Grizzlies with 11 points.

Tony Allen had a great first half for the Celtics. After talking to a group of reporters before the game on capitalizing on his chances when he gets more playing time, Allen had 18 points here before halftime. He made 7-of-9 shots.

Allen was very animated before the game. He doesn’t take off his headphones unless he’s asked to, and it almost seems as if Allen was reminded to play hard because of the attention he received. Whatever the reason, his production was sorely needed by a struggling Celtics team.
